As DT Global’s new VP for Global Integration, Tom Bayer contributes to thought leadership while helping position DT Global to anticipate and respond to new trends and challenges. In this role, Tom draws on his experience designing, implementing, and evaluating technical assistance and assessment crisis response and economic empowerment initiatives supporting sustainable self-rule, primarily across sub-Saharan Africa, North Africa, and the Middle East. Tom has a wealth of experience in crafting solutions alongside U.S. and foreign government officials, civil society leaders, and national and international change agents in challenging post-conflict settings to introduce and encourage inclusive, peaceful, open approaches to the division of power and authority.

A returned Peace Corps volunteer from Mali, Mr. Bayer received his M.P.A. from Indiana University’s O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs and his B.A. from DePauw University.

If you were doing something else besides this, what would it be?

Running a combination bicycle shop and coffee bar—with live music a couple of times each week, and gallery space for community arts and crafts.

If you could change something in the world, what would it be?

Widespread immediate availability of hyper efficient, environmentally friendly and affordable storage cells for solar, wind, and water generated power.
