Each participant brings a strong commitment to advancing development outcomes in their respective contexts and to strengthening their leadership capabilities within the sector.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">The diversity of backgrounds and experiences represented in the cohort underscores DT\u00a0Global\u2019s\u00a0ongoing commitment to embedding its\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/dt-global.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/DT-GLOBAL-LLD-FRAMEWORK.pdf\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Locally Led Development Framework<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"none\">, which places local leadership and decision-making at the centre of development practice.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Leonie Whyte, DT Global APAC\u2019s Head of Program Quality and Gender, welcomed the incoming cohort and highlighted the importance of the program\u2019s role in strengthening leadership capability across the development sector.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u201cEach year, the ELID Program provides an opportunity to support emerging leaders who are driving meaningful change in their communities,\u201d Leonie said. \u201cThis cohort reflects the depth of talent across our region, and DT Global is committed to equipping them with the leadership skills and platforms needed to further their impact.\u201d<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Over the next 12 months, participants will undertake an intensive, primarily online learning program focused on a range of leadership models, including Adaptive Leadership. The curriculum is designed to enhance participants\u2019 ability to apply these approaches within their professional roles. The program will also include group and individual coaching sessions and dedicated modules on development effectiveness, decolonization in the international development sector, and the importance of locally led development.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">In early December, the cohort\u00a0convened\u00a0in Canberra for a week-long professional development retreat held in conjunction with the Australasian AID Conference. The retreat included in-person workshops and coaching sessions delivered by ETM\u00a0Perspectives, an Indigenous-owned and operated organisation specialising in transformational and adaptive leadership.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">ELID participant, Telstar Jimmy, with the Balance of Power project in Vanuatu said that leadership is more than just titles and positions.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">\u201cIt\u2019s\u00a0about service and role modelling.\u00a0Its\u00a0about inspiring and empowering those around us.
