The Australia\u2013Papua New Guinea Law and Justice Partnership (APLJ) is a four-year investment aimed at improving access to and delivery of people-centred justice services to address pressing issues faced by communities in Papua New Guinea (PNG). With a strong inclusion focus, APLJ prioritises justice access for women, people with disabilities, marginalised youth, and other socially disadvantaged groups.<\/p>\n
More than 50% of PNG\u2019s youth population remains unemployed, and youth are widely believed to be contributing to increasing lawlessness due to limited education, skills, and opportunities.<\/p>\n
In response, APLJ seeks to implement targeted interventions that support economic empowerment and formalization of youth groups in remote and disadvantaged communities. This program aims to equip young people with essential business, financial, and organisational skills that promote positive engagement and reduce vulnerability to crime, violence and foster positive engagement.<\/p>","protected":false},"featured_media":0,"template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false},"categories":[],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-9750","proposals","type-proposals","status-publish","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"\n
