Languages: Spanish, English, French, and Portuguese

Technical areas of expertise: Human Resource Management, Public International Law, International Relations, EU integration processes and institutions, International Trade and Regional Integration processes

Born in Madrid, Miguel left his home country when he was only three years old to embark on a journey that would take him to Washington D.C, Paris, London, Rome and Brussels, getting acquainted with different cultures before returning home to study International Law. Shortly after graduating, and whilst preparing the Diplomatic Corps examinations, he came across his true professional vocation: international development.

Miguel joined ACE Consultants in 2012, a consulting firm specializing in economic and social development cooperation. Initially engaged as junior recruiter, Miguel was responsible for the identification, selection, and signing up of international freelance experts for development consultancy assignments. Over the following two years, Miguel acquired a successful track record of presenting winning teams for technical assistance projects funded by multilateral stakeholders, such as the EC, the WB, DFID, IADB, and the MCC. This success would allow him to take on the role of Head of Recruitment at AECOM International Development in 2014.

Before joining DT Global, Miguel actively participated in over 250 tenders, of which more than 60 resulted in contract award, therefore acquiring extensive experience in the management of end-to-end recruitment processes, supporting and advising business development and operations bid teams on recruitment and talent retention strategies, and gradually building a solid network of top consultants across a wide array of technical practice areas, including Infrastructure, Water and Sanitation, Environment, Energy, Rule of Law and Justice, Public Finance Management, Education, Social Development, and Economic Development.

The thrill of finding the perfect candidate for the job and making sure he/she fulfills his/her true potential.

What’s your favorite place of all the places you’ve travelled?

Hard to say, but probably Madagascar, as it’s like being on a different planet, with such unique and distinctive flora (Baobabs!) and fauna (Lemurs!), and breathtaking scenery.
