About

Kena is the Director of Climate and Environment Services within DT Global’s Environment & Infrastructure practice in the US and is responsible for overseeing the company’s USAID-funded multimillion-dollar programs in climate adaptation, climate finance, biodiversity, and environmental sustainability. Kena provides leadership and direction to various project management teams and technical staff at the home and field offices and partners with project Chiefs of Party to ensure high-quality project performance and delivery. She also supports DT Global’s growth and innovation through active participation in business development capture and proposal development processes, including pipeline development, technical design, strategic partnering, and management oversight. Kena also contributes to the company’s thought leadership in climate and sustainability and leads corporate sustainability initiatives, including the development of carbon inventories and reduction plans and advisory to departments on corporate sustainability practices.

Kena’s strong program management and team development skills have taken complex projects to successful delivery and close. Most recently, she oversaw USAID’s flag ship Climate Ready project, which worked across 11 Pacific Island states to increase access to climate finance, and a regional environmental sustainability project in the Amazon of Peru, Colombia, and Brazil to promote best environmental and social practices in the infrastructure and extractive sectors. Other programs under her purview have addressed water resources management, energy security, and economic growth issues in Latin America and the Caribbean, and the Balkans regions.

What’s your favorite place of all the places you’ve travelled?

Laguna Colorada in the Uyuni salt flats of Bolivia. The dark red waters, untouched mountains, blue skies and sighting of flamingos and vicunas make this a magical place.

What’s your favorite thing to do on weekends?

I enjoy spending time outdoors and exploring new places with family and friends.
