DT Global Endorses Common Approach to Protection from Sexual Exploitation, Sexual Abuse, and Sexual Harassment

DT Global has endorsed the Common Approach to Protection from Sexual Exploitation, Sexual Abuse and Sexual Harassment (CAPSEAH) - the first initiative of its kind aimed at aligning key actions across the humanitarian, development and peace-keeping sectors to protect people from sexual exploitation, sexual abuse and harassment (SEAH).

CAPSEAH is a collective vision for action, developed by a multi-stakeholder group, with global consultation. It provides a set of common principles to guide all work on SEAH and a set of minimum actions to protect against SEAH.

The approach aims to prevent SEAH and improve accountability and support to victim-survivors; amplify existing standards as the basis for a stronger, more aligned approach; and set expectations about behaviours and minimum actions to protect from SEAH.

Endorsing CAPSEH is an important signal of DT Global’s zero tolerance of SEAH and commitment to safeguarding against harm.

“Preventing harm and mitigating risks to vulnerable people including women, children, and at-risk adults, in the communities we work with and the people in our organisation, is a top priority,” says Torge Gerlach, CEO of DT Global.
“We will continuously work to strengthen and align our approaches to safeguarding and incorporating CAPSEAH principles and minimum actions into our work across the globe.”

CAPSEAH is a voluntary and non-binding approach, which encourages governments and organisations to join a long-term, collective global effort to promote and improve work to protect against SEAH.
