The program assessed Ecuador’s electoral environment, logistical considerations, and adherence to EU criteria for election observation, as outlined in the Communication on EU Election Assistance and Observation. The Exploratory Mission comprehensively analysed the decision-making process of the High Representative/Vice-President, aligning potential deployment with the election calendar and local conditions.
This EU Election Observation Mission (EU EOM) to Ecuador supported transparent, credible, and inclusive elections by observing the entire electoral process nationwide. The mission mitigated risks to electoral integrity by assessing the legal framework, election administration, campaign environment, media coverage, and overall electoral conduct, ensuring alignment with democratic standards.
DT Global implemented logistical, administrative, financial, and security aspects of the mission. Key activities included coordinating observer deployments, securing operational facilities, managing financial resources, and ensuring the safety of mission personnel. By engaging election authorities, political parties, civil society, and voters, the project enhanced public confidence in the electoral process and strengthened democratic governance.
