Environmental and Social Impact Assessment for Integrated Fertilizer Plant
Strengthening investment readiness by decreasing environmental and social risk
Challenge
To support development of a major integrated fertilizer manufacturing facility, the client required environmental and social assessments that would satisfy international lender expectations while informing project design and regulatory approvals.
Approach
DT Global led the Environmental and Social Impact Assessments for the proposed ammonia-urea plant, associated marine infrastructure and water supply systems. Working across a multidisciplinary team, we assessed biodiversity, land use, water resources, labor and working conditions, community impacts and environmental management requirements, while preparing comprehensive Environmental and Social Management Plans aligned with the IFC Performance Standards.
Goals and Results
The assignment strengthened the project’s investment readiness by providing an internationally compliant environmental and social management framework that supported regulatory approvals, reduced environmental and social risk, and positioned the project to meet international financing requirements.
