Her expertise spans agriculture, rural development, environmental and social sustainability, trade, and entrepreneurship. She provides technical guidance and strategic leadership to project teams, aligning their work with sustainability goals and bringing together government clients, small and medium-sized enterprises, and farming communities.
Maria has led large-scale projects involving multiple stakeholders across Africa and Eastern Europe. Her experience includes research and analysis, stakeholder engagement, and the development of project proposals and methodologies with clear objectives and a focus on results. She holds master’s degrees in civil and environmental engineering and in economic development and food security, combining technical knowledge of infrastructure with an understanding of rural economies. Her academic research explored participatory approaches to efficient irrigation infrastructure, complementing her practical experience in sustainable agricultural development.
