About

Stuart Schaefer joined in June 2021 as DT Global's Practice Leader for Governance in the Asia-Pacific office. He has over 30 years of experience in international relations and development working for government, not for profit, and private sector organizations. He has undertaken a variety of both short- and long-term leadership, analytical, policy, program, and operations roles in Australia and overseas. Stuart has over ten years of experience living and working in difficult environments and partnering with local community and government organizations. He led the Australian government’s development assistance programs in Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, and Afghanistan, with most of his experience working with countries throughout the South Pacific. He has also delivered government programs working with indigenous communities in the Northern Territory of Australia. On leaving government, Stuart worked as the Director of International Programs at Save the Children Australia before moving to the private sector.
