About

Andrea is a Senior Director in the Conflict Prevention, Stabilization & Transition practice area at DT Global. She is a stabilization and forced migration expert with experience designing, managing, and implementing donor-funded stabilization, democracy and governance, and civil society programming in post-conflict and political transition contexts. Before joining DT Global, Andrea led Syria programming in various leadership positions, including twice as Chief of Party, for programs funded by the U.S. Department of State, USAID’s Office of Transition Initiatives (OTI), and DFID. Andrea has managed the life cycle of multifaceted projects of more than $100 million in Afghanistan, Iraq, Myanmar, and Syria. She is also a seasoned grants manager with experience designing and implementing complex grants programs and providing training and mentoring to colleagues in grant design and implementation in challenging remote-work environments.

Andrea also served as Project Director for the Cross-border Conflict, Evidence, Policy, and Trends research program, funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO). In this role, she represented the project with the FCDO Research and Evidence Division, oversaw performance of six research subcontractors, and designed and led the program grants component. Concurrently, Andrea managed 12 UK and EU-funded frameworks, including the Conflict, Stability and Security Fund Framework.

What’s your favorite place of all the places you’ve travelled?

It is a close tie between Inle Lake in Myanmar and Big Sur in northern California. Both places are the most naturally breathtaking places I have seen with mountains and cliffs abutting massive bodies of water. In both, communities honor nature and have fought to preserve it.

If you were doing something else besides this, what would it be?

I would run a specialty cheese shop. As the daughter of a proud Wisconsin dairy farmer, I would love the opportunity to work with farmers to promote their work and to have endless opportunities to sample the products.
