Rayne Loken serves as DT Global’s Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Director within the Learning & Innovation Unit, based in Washington DC. Since November 2019, she has worked alongside her Learning & Innovation colleagues to enhance DT Global’s offering as a premiere learning organization—designing MEL systems and introducing innovative approaches to monitoring and evaluation for both projects and business development efforts.
Before joining DT Global, Rayne worked for over a decade as a monitoring and evaluation expert in a variety of leadership and advisory roles, primarily in the conflict and stabilization space. Having worked on behalf of both the humanitarian and private sectors, she has designed and operationalized monitoring and evaluation systems and solutions for various projects in diverse and conflict conditions throughout the Middle East, East and West Africa, and Asia. Rayne has extensive remote management experience, including implementing programs from Turkey, Jordan, and Lebanon. She has implemented projects for multiple USAID bureaus, US Department of State, UNHCR, the European Commission Humanitarian Aid Office (ECHO), and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA). Previously she served as an evaluation methods specialist and team lead, assisting in the design and implementation of impact evaluations across USAID/EEI’s global climate change portfolio.
What’s the coolest thing about your job?
The many opportunities it has provided me to travel all over the world, visit so many fascinating places, and meet so many amazing people that I otherwise wouldn’t have.
What’s your favorite place of all the places you’ve travelled?
It’s a toss-up between Istanbul, Turkey—where I lived and worked for many years, and Zimbabwe—where I vacationed many times when I was younger.
