Transforming Ideas into Impact

Delivering data-driven, sustainable solutions that transform lives and empower communities through a global platform that links learning to impact.

WHAT WE DO

We Deliver Solutions

From early stage crisis and stabilization assistance through to economic development, governance, and environmental work, DT Global provides a continuum of support to communities along the development spectrum. We deliver solutions across five principal development areas:

OUR LEADERSHIP

We are united by our shared passion for outcomes that advance human progress, while our diverse global perspectives allow us to solve problems and uncover opportunities in unique ways.

DT GLOBAL ECOSYSTEM

A New Model for Development

We are pioneering a new way of doing business – starting with a unique structure where GPD Charitable Trust is the principal owner of the for-profit DT Global. Through GPD, DT Global is investing $1.8M annually into our non-profit partner, the DT Institute, in order to support partners, pilot new initiatives, and expand programming—further investing in the communities where we work to transform lives. Drawing on an extensive network of private sector partners and foundations, DT Institute – launching in October 2019 - will be both a funder and an implementer, driving innovation and strengthening communities and leaders. Together, the DT Global family will have the unique ability to augment existing donor-funded programs through matching grants and provide modern solutions to program financing.

INNOVATION

Sensus

Leveraging our experience working in fragile and conflict-affected environments, DT Global has developed a participatory, inclusive, and data-driven analytical framework – Sensus – to help our partners design hyper-local interventions that mitigate the underlying causes of violence, instability, or community dysfunction.

Seeing a problem from the community’s perspective provides the context required for rigorous analysis and community-inspired collaborative program design. By working with local stakeholders throughout the Sensus process, we are better positioned to prioritize community voices, challenge outsider assumptions, and ensure sensitivity to local dynamics.

Establishing community partnerships ensures project ownership and sustainability from key stakeholders. With local stakeholders, DT Global tailors survey instruments, applies our Sensus analytical filters, verifies and validates findings, co-designs activities, and applies lessons learned and best practices.

From stabilization and countering violent extremism (CVE) to combatting gang violence and gender-based violence, DT Global adapts Sensus with context-specific analytical filters, developed and informed by conflict theory and best practices, to address the underlying causes of community vulnerability.

To better attain accurate and relevant information, DT Global co-creates conflict sensitive and context specific questionnaires with local partners. We train our local researchers to collect primary source quantitative and qualitative data using technology-enabled collection tools. The resulting data and analytics can be viewed geospatially in real-time on DT Global’s Knowledge Management System (KMS).

Once the data is collated in the KMS, our team analyzes the findings to identify and prioritize community vulnerabilities and key drivers of conflict. DT Global then validates these findings through participatory focus group discussions with community members.

Once key drivers have been validated, DT Global facilitates dialogues with community stakeholders to co-design realistic and actionable activities to mitigate priority drivers of violence, instability, or community dysfunction. Along with activity design, local stakeholders generate specific, measurable, actionable, realistic, and timed (SMART) indicators to track proposed activities.

Because perception data can be viewed in real-time, activities can be quickly adjusted to adapt to changing perceptions or dynamics on the ground. This means that local partners gain greater understanding as they implement their activities, reallocating resources to maximize outputs and outcomes. When appropriate, DT Global reports the findings to local councils and host governments in order to seek greater collaboration and to link sub-national and national initiatives to ensure meaningful and sustainable impact. This continuous and expansive learning process not only allows interventions to remain agile and effective in addressing community vulnerabilities, but also builds on existing community resiliencies to establish sustainable linkages.
