DT Global to Acquire Cardno International Development

DT Global is excited to announce that we have entered into a share purchase agreement to acquire Cardno International Development, a leader in international development with a global presence and more than 1,500 personnel across 25 offices. We are working together to finalize this transaction by the end of June 2022.

"We are looking forward to this opportunity to combine the skills and expertise of DT Global and Cardno International Development so that we can create impact and transform lives together," says Torge Gerlach, Chief Executive Officer of DT Global. He continued, "Building on our 50 plus years of experience and our global network of experts, the acquisition of Cardno International Development and its merger with DT Global serve as a tremendous opportunity to provide technically excellent service delivery for our global clients and stakeholders. We are excited by the possibilities this combination can deliver, and we look forward to welcoming our Cardno International Development colleagues into the DT Global family.

This acquisition enhances DT Global’s commitment to do development differently by drawing on Cardno’s capabilities and geographic reach. The expanded DT Global family, driven by its dedication to the profit for purpose model, will be a leading supplier of international development services across a wide range of technical areas including stabilization and transition, governance, climate resilience, economic growth, and more. These technical areas—and the high quality, locally-led service delivery that DT Global is known for—will only be enhanced by Cardno’s deep geographic depth and knowledge across health, infrastructure, rural development, and other critical sectors.

Michael Alscher, Cardno’s Chairman, commented that “Cardno International Development has played an important role in delivering practical, innovative, and sustainable solutions in international development for more than 50 years.” He added that “with DT Global's 50 plus years of experience, we see tremendous opportunity to provide superior global offerings for our clients and stakeholders.”

We look forward to providing this enhanced value to our clients and stakeholders, including the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID); the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC); the United Kingdom Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO); the European Union (EU); the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT); the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT); and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) as well as other public and private sector stakeholders.
