New Ireland Provincial Government has identified the 27 km road section of the Lihir Island Ring Road from Palie in Ward 6 to Zuen in Ward 11 as an area that needs rehabilitation and upgrades. These upgrades were deemed necessary and important by the New Ireland Provincial Government, and it has been identified as a National Government commitment to the people of Lihir under both the 1995 and 2007 Lihir Memorandums of Agreement and Newcrest Mining Ltd.’s commitment to the Lihirian community through their Tax Credit Scheme.

DT Global will provide construction supervision for the upgrade of a portion of the Lihir Island Ring Road from Palie in Ward 6 to Zuen in Ward 11 on Lihir Island's west coast and will act as the Newcrest Mining Ltd.’s representative. DT Global will be responsible for the supervision, contract management, and day-to-day oversight and delivery of the construction work to ensure the processes, activities, and resources are able to deliver the project to specification, on time, and on budget with no harm to people or the environment.

Upgrading a portion of the Lihir Island Ring Road from Palie in Ward 6 to Zuen in Ward 11 on Lihir Island's west coast will contribute towards the island’s development objectives, provide the local communities and wards a safe transport route, and improve access to trade and development opportunities, education, and health services.
