Women, Peace & Security

We employ Gender Equity and Social Inclusion experts to ensure we thoughtfully apply gender, conflict sensitivity, and safeguarding principles throughout all our work. We take the time to understand how gendered social, political, and economic structures, norms, and embedded power relations threaten the security of women. From the start of each program, we identify opportunities to understand social constraints, and support women and other socially excluded populations to prevent conflict and build peace while ensuring we do not inadvertently put them at risk. We design interventions informed and driven by women and vulnerable populations that also include psycho-social and trauma support, especially for victims of sexual and gender-based violence. We support local movements to hold governments and local security and justice institutions accountable to promote the meaningful inclusion and protection of women and girls.
