The Conference of Parties (COP) is an annual United Nations climate change meeting that congregates countries to discuss strategies to mitigate, adapt, and prepare for future impacts of climate change. This year’s 28th COP summit will be held in Dubai from November 30 until December 12. We are honored to share that staff from our US and Australia offices have been invited by the Governments of Fiji and Tuvalu to attend COP28, where we will provide technical assistance and support side event organization.
DT Global has been a dedicated partner to Fiji, Tuvalu, and other countries in the Pacific in their efforts to adapt to the negative impacts of climate change by supporting increased access to climate finance. This support has been through our implementation of USAID’s Climate Ready and Adapt Asia-Pacific projects, which have together contributed to securing nearly USD 1 billion in international climate adaptation funding across the Pacific and Asia. We are also positioned as the largest implementer of projects for Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Currently, we are supporting various Pacific Island countries in critical areas, including sustainable and climate-resilient infrastructure, low-carbon and resilient business development, agricultural market systems development, biodiversity conservation, and much more.
We have been a trusted partner of key Pacific entities, including Council of Regional Organisations in the Pacific (CROP) agencies such as The Pacific Community (SPC), the Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP), The University of the South Pacific (USP), National Designated Authorities, Direct Access Entities, Public Development Banks, Ministries and Divisions of Climate Change, Chambers of Commerce, community-based organizations, and trust funds, among other groups throughout the Pacific. We are extremely familiar with the institutional and political landscape of the region as it relates to climate change and other vital issues.
We look forward to extending this support to the Government of Fiji and Tuvalu during COP28 in Dubai.
