Locally led development is at the heart of effective, lasting, positive change. DT Global Asia Pacific is excited to release its Locally Led Development (LLD) Framework, as a guide for our organisation and the programs we support.
There are four focus areas of our Framework: the first considers how we can play a role in incubating developmental leaders in the countries in which we work. The second tackles the cultural shifts that need to take place to enable and authorise local leadership. The third looks at the operational aspects of enabling LLD, from recruitment and remuneration to the way grants are administered. The fourth looks at the programming cycle and how LLD can be embedded in design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
In all our actions and activities there is potential to foster, amplify and come behind local developmental leadership – this Framework aims to support, motivate and align DT Global APAC’s efforts in doing so.

On the sidelines of the 79th session of the United National General Assembly (UNGA), DT Global is proud to announce the release of its 2023 Impact Report. The report provides examples of DT Global’s efforts to advance the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
DT Global CEO Torge Gerlach emphasized, “This report underscores our dedication to sustainable locally-led development around the world.”
DT Global is dedicated to implementing development programs that prioritize deep, transformative, and positive impact for the communities we serve. We believe that achieving this kind of impact is only possible when it is anchored in sustainability and locally-led solutions.
As a global development organization, DT Global exists to support, facilitate, and amplify the efforts of local leaders who are striving for peace and development in their communities.
“Working in collaboration with our clients and partners in more than 90 countries and across a range of sectors, DT Global continues to tackle some of the toughest development challenges the world is facing.” said Torge Gerlach.
The first section of this report reveals how our dedication to locally-led development and sustainability carries into our organizational policies and structure. The second section of this report highlights the impact of our programs by each SDG. DT Global has embraced the SDGs as a guiding framework to present our progress for 2023.
By anchoring our vision in the SDGs and focusing on locally-led, sustainable solutions, and on the corporate and program levels, we are creating a model of development that is both globally aligned and deeply rooted in the communities we serve.

DT Global is delighted to announce the appointment of Gianmattia Lobina to Regional Global Growth Director Ukraine, Central and Eastern Europe, and Jose Ignacio Soriano to Director of the Business Development division for DT Global Europe.
In his new role, Gianmattia will be leading DT Global's expansion efforts, fostering strategic partnerships and leveraging the organization's expertise to support post-conflict recovery and sustainable development in the region. Most recently, Gianmattia served as the Director of the Business Development Division for DT Global Europe in Madrid.
“I am appreciative of a decade of unwavering dedication and exceptional contributions to DT Global Europe. Gianmattia’s hard work and leadership have been instrumental to our growth and success.” Said María Garrón, Managing Director DT Global Europe.
“I am delighted to work closely with Gianmattia in this new role. We are also excited to announce that our colleague Jose Ignacio Soriano is joining us with an impressive track record of more than 25 years in the development sector, where he has worked with all major financial institutions, including the EU, the Asian Development Bank, and the World Bank. Jose has extensive business development experience, leading and managing teams and companies, having served as Director General of Eptisa for over a decade.

In response to Sudan's conflict, our USAID/OTI STEP-UP program supports local groups in addressing urgent humanitarian challenges like displacement and disease outbreaks. Here, youth prepare land for displaced people in the Kordofan region.
DT Global is proud to announce that we have been awarded the Support Which Implements Fast Transitions (SWIFT) 6 – Programs Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract. SWIFT 6 programs will be the primary mechanism through which USAID/Office of Transition Initiatives (OTI) implements programming for the next ten years. Under this US$5 billion IDIQ, OTI will support U.S. foreign policy objectives by helping local partners advance peace and stability in fragile environments through a fast, flexible, and adaptable model that addresses key political transition and stabilization needs.
This award builds on DT Global’s long history of supporting OTI. As an OTI Implementer since SWIFT II, DT Global has worked with OTI over the last twenty years across 16 different countries and currently holds five active SWIFT 5 Task Orders (Iraq, Sri Lanka, Sudan, and two regional mechanisms in the Middle East and North Africa, and Southern and Eastern Africa). Through these programs, DT Global has supported activities that promote transitional justice, reconciliation, social cohesion, youth development, and provide political and stabilization assessments.
“DT Global is excited to continue to support USAID/OTI. Their model of development matches DT Global’s commitment to doing development differently and we stand ready to advance the OTI mission in complex political crises around the world,” said Sloan Mann, DT Global US President.
We are thrilled to announce that DT Global has been awarded USAID’s Climate Ready BOSS program, aimed at mobilizing over US$1.05 billion in climate finance for the Pacific region over the next five years. This achievement builds on the success and strong reputation we established through our previous USAID Climate Ready project.
Climate Ready BOSS will be a flagship USAID program, working across 12 Pacific Island Countries (PICs) to enhance their ability to access climate finance for critical adaptation and mitigation projects. In addition to our partnerships with governments, regional organizations, and multi-donor trust funds, we will introduce a new strategic focus on collaborating with private sector financiers. This innovative approach will test and scale de-risking structures to encourage private sector investments in key sectors. Furthermore, the program will strengthen the PICs' capacity to plan and manage climate finance, fostering a more resilient investment environment in the region.
This win is a testament to DT Global's strong reputation and the deep respect we’ve earned from key Pacific Island stakeholders. Our ability to navigate the region's unique complexities ensures our programs are grounded in local ownership, aligned with national and subnational contexts, respectful of indigenous traditions, and focused on long-term sustainability.
We look forward to leading this impactful initiative and continuing our work to support climate resilience in the Pacific.
